Nursing Home Ministry

Deep Creek Manor Assisted Living Home
"MercyHope"

It's been almost three years since Margaret Schlegel started ministering at Deep Creek Manor. On the first Sunday of each month, residents come together, and join in fellowship, singing praises to our Lord, and enjoying the Word of God. As Margaret and her team bring the residents into an atmosphere of worship, it is easy for them to remember God's faithfulness and love.

River Point Health Center
Two to three times a week Bernice Cofield visits the residents at River Point. Her regular visits provide love, support, and encouragement. As a volunteer she assists the residents, passes out the refreshments and visits the ones that cannot leave their rooms. She says, "I feel my purpose there is to assist them in any capacity that I am able."

Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

For the past several years I have looked forward to my weekly visits with the residents of Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Indian River Rd.   Often I found myself being blessed by the resident's positive attitude and humor.  I remember one special day when the residents in their wheelchairs rolled down the halls wearing their pretty bonnets during the Easter Parade waving to the staff and the bedridden.  I go to the residents' rooms when they are unable to get out of bed, I mourn their loss and celebrate when they are well enough to return home. Thank you Holy Spirit for placing me at Oakwood. -Linda Batten
